Importance of the online student community

The question, which follows our topic of discussion on online communities like YouTube, 'why is it important to understand online communities for your future students?' My future students and I will be in a community, our school. We will share things in common, we will share differences. It has become popular culture to be involved on some online community. I never thought my mom would have a facebook account, but it's a great way to exchange pictures, stories, and lives quickly and easily. I want to provide my students with valuable information and resources. The best way to relay this information to them is through the internet. In order to better understand my students and help them, I think it's important to know what they are exposed to and what they like to do. This way I can integrate academically rich information to them through outlets they find interesting. Hopefully, I can set an example for how to evaluate and make the good choices in life. I just want to do what's best for my students and help them become the best people they can be. If online communities are a way to reach out to them and help them, then I want to understand it.
